i'm melting, i'm melting

a while ago i wrote about one of my oogie-boogie fears - spontaneous human combustion. well - for the past 5 days i've been dealing with the flip side - the danger of melting into my sofa like some bizzarre madame tussauds cast-off. somewhat similar to the melting down of bits of brad and jen to get them out of their embrace at the london version of the tacky museum (which, i must admit with no small measure of shame that back in 1994 i picked over the british museum - my 20's were a confused time) i suppose i should go and sit outside in the lovely arbour...

my arbour a few weeks ago - it's much more covered with vines now.... it's an oasis in the toronto yuck

...that i have in my backyard - but from sitting in it yesterday for 4 hours i somehow got tropical-like burns on my shoulders and arms and neck... :( bye bye lovely pale skin....

also - the weather gods seem to be ready to play a big joke on me... after suffering through this past week and most of next week - it seems like it's going to drop to 16C and pour rain next friday - the date of an outdoor david usher show in mississauga. i'm just going to go on the assumption that the folks trying to interpret messages from the weather gods are still not able to find their asses from their noses.

also - tori amos tickets for her show in montreal go on sale on saturday.... the toronto show is still not officially announced yet - crossing fingers.... i actually considered (for a brief moment) booking a via ticket to take me to montreal for the day and return that evening on an overnight train.... but with the ticket for the show costing 55.00 and the train ticket costing 149.00 - i decided not to.... come on toronto date!
