this is a kitten that was found on the toronto cat rescue site. she was also found hanging out for adoption at the bloor west pet valu store. and as of tonight, she will be found in my home. not so long ago my lovely 13-year old cat nes passed away of a heart attack. normally my roommate and i wouldn't be thinking of getting another cat so soon after losing a valued member of our feline family - but the one remaining cat (raja) has been with other kitty companions for his entire life and he's been taking the loss pretty hard. he is much more needy than normal - always needing to be petted or sitting with us on the sofa. he's been crying a bit more than normal and most heartbreakingly was his reaction last friday after spending the entire day by himself. when we came home he was nearly frantic and then seemed a touch depressed for a couple of days.
i would be happy with just raja and i'm not looking to replace nes, not at all - but i just think that this will be good for raja. we'll just have to watch him to make sure he doesn't swat the new little gurl into the middle of next week out of sheer annoyance.
right now her name is augusta - but i think we're going to try out tallulah... it might just be right for her...

What a pretty kitten! I wish you peace among your cats -- for sure, more than I have in my household. :-)
thank you suzanne... :) so far there has been peace. raja has moved from hissing and growling and running past the kitten to nose kisses and happy little churps.
and she has been named zelda... turns out she wasn't a zelda....
